What does a Booker Shopify integration do?
It lets a salon or spa sell retail online without managing two inventories. Booker stays the source for products, prices and stock; Shopify becomes the storefront. Orders placed online flow back to Booker, so client history and stock counts stay right at the front desk.
What syncs between Booker and Shopify?
| Data | Direction | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Retail products and prices | Booker → Shopify | Listings match what you set up in Booker |
| Inventory | Booker ↔ Shopify | Stock received in Booker shows online; online sales deduct it in Booker |
| Orders | Shopify → Booker | Recorded on the client’s profile, with a “Shopify” payment method for clean reporting |
| Clients | Booker ↔ Shopify | Matched by email; new online buyers are added to Booker |
| Gift cards | Shopify → Booker | Become Booker gift certificates |
| Marketing opt-in | Booker → Shopify | Only opted-in clients receive store emails |
Which automations can you add?
- Post-visit product reminder. After a service, email the client a link to the products their stylist used.
- Member pricing. Tag Booker members in Shopify for an automatic discount.
- Low-stock alert. Notify the manager when a top seller drops below a set level after online sales.
- Unused gift certificate reminder. Remind recipients who haven’t booked a month after receiving one.
How does this compare with other options?
| Option | What you get | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Update both by hand | Free | Stock drifts and online orders get missed |
| Custom development | Exactly what you specify | Quote-based, and someone has to maintain it |
| Generic automation tools | Single steps you assemble | Each step is yours to fix when it breaks |
| Pandaflow | Products, stock, orders, clients and gift cards in one sync | Needs SKUs on retail products first |
How do you set it up?
- Prepare both systems. Add SKUs in Booker, match them in Shopify, and add a cash-equivalent custom payment method called “Shopify” in Booker. The step-by-step Booker–Shopify guide covers each setting.
- Connect and describe. Start free, connect Booker with a dedicated staff login and Shopify, then write what you want: “Keep Booker retail and stock in sync with Shopify, record online orders in Booker under the client, and turn gift card purchases into Booker gift certificates.”
- Test one order. Check a few product prices, place a real order, and confirm it appears on the client’s Booker profile with stock reduced.
This is an illustrative setup, not a customer story. A two-chair barbershop lists 15 grooming products on Shopify. Booker stays the stock record, online orders show up under each client, and holiday gift cards turn into Booker certificates the front desk redeems like any other.
If you also run a studio on Mindbody, the same store can connect to it: see Mindbody and Shopify. For everything else Booker connects to, go to the Booker integrations hub.
